Learn the stories of two major players bringing both history and invention to whisky: Nikka from Japan and Kavalan from Taiwan. First, we’ll go into the groundwork laid by the Father of Japanese Whisky, Masataka Taketsuru, as well as celebrate the 100th anniversary of his meeting his match and partner in life: his Scottish wife, Rita. They laid a foundation for whisky distinct from Europe and North America, and Nikka has paved innovation ever since. We’ll then journey to Taiwan, a seeming newcomer to the world whisky stage, where Kavalan Distillery turns the conversation of age statements on its head. Together we will learn and enjoy the culture of gan bei! with a special new distillate from Kavalan Distillery.

This is a hands-on class and you should expect to roll up your sleeves and participate!
